Comenius

This project is made possible by a grant from the Comenius programme.

From the Comenius website:

“The Comenius Network was established in 2018 on the initiative of the Minister of Education, Culture and Science, initially for a period of three years. The ComeniusNetwork wants to give teachers in Dutch higher education a voice and look after their interests.

Members are the recipients of a grant from the Comenius program (National Directorate for Educational Research, NRO) and the nominees for the election of Teacher of the Year (Intercity Student Consultation, ISO).

Comenius program

The Comenius program enables teachers to put their vision of education into practice. The program offers scholarships to Teaching Fellows, Senior Fellows and Leadership Fellows. The fellows are distinguished from each other on the basis of experience and the scope of their impact on education. By visibly appreciating excellent and inspired teaching, the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science wants to contribute to more varied careers for teachers and researchers at colleges and universities. All fellows in the Comenius program become members of the Comenius Network.”

What People Say

“One cannot expect positive results from an educational or political action program which fails to respect the particular view of the world held by the people. Such a program constitutes cultural invasion, good intentions notwithstanding.”

Paulo Freire, Pedagogy of the Oppressed

“The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character – that is the goal of true education.”

Martin Luther King

“The power of a theory is exactly proportional to the diversity of situations it can explain.”

Elinor Ostrom, Governing the Commons: The Evolution of Institutions for Collective Action

Let’s build something together.
