This project is spear headed by Igor Pessoa and Roberto Rocco, both working at the Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment of the TU Delft. Igor, together with Luz Maria Vergara, headed the development and coordination of two editions of the Rethink the City MOOC. The course focused on learning from the urban challenges of the Global South. This course received international recognition with an honourable mention from the Open Education Consortium and was the winner of the ‘Excellence in Teaching Award’ from the Association of European Schools of Planning. This course created a broad and diverse international environment for knowledge exchange about urban planning, and created “potential for significant transnational impact through a global, and multiple domestic, ‘planning educational networks”.
